Oh horses! They love to beat up, crack, chip-off, and destroy their hooves. Instead of wasting time and money on products that don’t work, Dr. Jess has created her list of favorite topical hoof repairs that you should get your hands on and your horse should sink their hooves into!

Not all hooves or hoof repair products are made the same.

The hoof repairs Doc Jess has listed here are not only are affordable, easily found at your local tack store or online, but also have been personally used by herself and her horses or by her clients.

So she has seen these products in action and she’s seen their results.

She can definitely back her love for these products!

Vet-Recommended Horse Hoof Repair

Oh horses! They love to beat up, crack, chip-off, and destroy their hooves. Instead of wasting time and money on products that do not work, Dr. Jess has created her list of favorite hoof repairs that you should get your hands on and your horse should sink their hooves into!

1. Manna Pro Hoof Heal

This is the product that I have been using on my personal horses for the past 3 to 4 years. It works incredibly well.

I've noticed a bug improvement in the number of cracks, lost shoes, and I even have one gelding that doesn't require shoes!

This stuff works on my horses!

It is made by Manna Pro, and on their website, they talk about this product as, "Hoof-Heal's award-winning hoof dressing helps prevent brittle and dry hooves as well as encourages healthy hoof growth. Hoof-Heal creates a flexible barrier that breaths and prolongs hoof protection. Ongoing use of Hoof-Heal helps keep the coronary band, heel, sole, and frog healthy and capable of handling impact without cracking. Plus, Hoof-Heal creates a long-lasting show ring shine!"

2. Hooflex Liquid Conditioner With Brush

The makers of this product, Absorbine, are a well-trusted brand for many years. I have personally used this product and have had many clients use it with happy results as well.

On the product page of the Absorbine.com website, they describe the features of this Hoofflex hoof repair like this:

"-Treats brittle, drying, cracking, and chipping hooves

-Creates a breathable moisture barrier to help maintain a long-lasting moisture balance

-Absorbs quickly and provides deep therapeutic conditioning

-Helps protect the hoof wall, sole, and frog

-Contains antibacterial and antifungal agents to help prevent infection."

3. Farnam Horseshoer's Secret Deep-Penetrating Hoof Conditioner

Farnam, the manufacturer of this Horsehoer's Secret, is another well-known and loved product line of horse owners. The Farnam website listed these key features of their product:

"-Helps restore damaged hooves

-Includes glycerine to attract moisture and mineral oil to hold moisture into the hoof

-Exclusive pine-tar free moisturizing formula contains reconstructing power of avocado to deep condition hooves"

My farrier turned me on to these Horseshoer's Secret products 10 plus years ago and I have been impressed ever since.

4. Fiebing's Improved Hoof Dressing Oil Conditioner

I used this product on the first horse I ever owned as a young girl. I put it on her hooves every day and she had the hardest feet of any horse I have ever met!

This stuff is great, it's easily found in tack stores and online, and is affordable!

If you have a product in mind that would be a great fit for this list, send a mention Dr. Jess’ way.

She may just add it to this list!

And always remember, monitor and closely watch your horse’s hooves for concern or trouble and reach out to your veterinarian with questions.

We vets don’t mind questions!
